Steps to Register

High School Diploma

It's never too late to earn your Diploma!

We are excited that you have decided to continue your educational journey with us! Coming back to school, especially if you have been out for a while, can be a daunting experience. Whether you struggled academically or life experiences prevented you from getting your high school diploma the first time around, we believe it is never too late to pursue your goals and create the future you want for yourself. We are proud of you for taking these first steps!

Registration Form 

Register with Adult Ed using the link above. Then email your transcripts to Brienne.Phillips@lmusd.org.

Try to get your transcripts as soon as possible. We need them before you attend a 1:1 Orientation and before you begin classes!

If you need help acquiring transcripts, please contact Brienne so she can assist you. 

Attend an Orientation with our Counselor to review our program requirements and expectations. You will also take a required assessment.

This required CASAS assessment helps us determine the academic needs of our students, as well as helping to fund our program and keep our cost FREE to you. The assessment takes 60 minutes on average, so please plan accordingly for these Orientation/Intake sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our classes are primarily done online through the independent study website, Edgenuity. Our instructors will add a class to your account, print course notes and help guide you through the course.

    We also offer direct instruction classes if a traditional in-person setting is best for your learning style. This currently includes: Life Science, Math, Social Studies, Current Events and Reading Literacy. We are hoping to add all course subjects as direct instruction and fast-track classes. 

  • In California, high school credit requirements average between 220-260 credits for a diploma.
    Lucia Mar Adult Education removes many of the elective credits needed to graduate (from traditional high schools) and requires only 180 credits to earn a Diploma. You may be closer to graduation than you think!

    You can also earn up to 20 elective credits for proof of work experience! If you've been employed, we can award you 5 elective credits for every 3-months of full-time job experience. Up to a 20 credit maximum. Ask your instructor for details!
